Enchanted Kingdom

With one exception, images in the Enchanted Kingdom series were made with an iPhone camera and processed with Instagram filters. The majority of my photographic work is in black and white, and it was a pleasant shift for me to “see” in color for a change. While I don’t think twice about capturing everyday snapshots with my phone, it took a mental shift for me to use it as an artistic tool. Deciding now and then to leave my “real” cameras at home when I traveled, I found myself treating my phone differently— I thought of it more as a camera with a phone instead of the other way around. These photographs were made in Michigan, New York, Vermont, and Ohio.
